In the spirit of continuous improvement and adaptation that defines psychosocial rehabilitation, PAPRS is excited to announce updates to our training program that better serve the needs of adult learners in the digital age. As part of this initiative, we are once again offering a virtual conference. The virtual format has proven to be an effective way to increase access to high-quality professional development and continuing education credits that are required both by regulations and for CPRP certification. By eliminating the need for travel and lodging, virtual conferences also reduce costs for both individuals and provider organizations, allowing more staff members to participate without straining budgets. We believe that this shift towards virtual learning represents a significant step forward in our mission to provide accessible, impactful training opportunities for all those involved The Conference Committee is working to put together another well rounded conference of workshops and keynote speakers! Our line up of keynote speakers this year are: Gabby Bonesso - an award-winning standup comedian and public speaker. She has worked with CBS radio, American Eagle Outfitters, and has written for AOL and local Pittsburgh publications. Gabby is an advocate for mental health awareness, incorporating her own experiences with bipolar disorder, CPTSD, OCD, ADHD, Autism Spectrum and anxiety into her talks and workshops. Dr. Lisa Razzano - a Professor of Psychiatry and Deputy Director at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). Dr. Razzano is recognized internationally for her research and workforce development programs focusing on mental health recovery, physical health, mental health and recovery among people with HIV/AIDS, and community services. She has received numerous awards, including the American Psychological Association’s Neale Award and the UIC Chancellor’s Award. Dr. Razzano has served on many federal and national boards, including as Chair of the American Psychological Association’s Task Force on Serious Mental Illness. Sera Davidow - The Wildflower Alliance supports and empowers communities and people impacted by psychiatric diagnosis, trauma, and other life challenges through peer support, alternative healing, learning, and advocacy. We address systemic injustices and offer training for both peer supporters and others seeking to improve understanding.
